Cross Country Season Wrap Up
The WLTFC Cross Country team wrapped up another successful season at the Canadian Cross Country Championships in Kingston on November 26th. The Youth Girls Team (Maya Hannagan, Chloe Walker, Madison Burnham, Caroline Forbes, Megan Coutinho, Nicole LaRue, Lynnsey Copat, Chloe Pugh, Ally Oulds) finished with a silver medal, and the Junior Men (Mitch Ubene, Mile Matthews, Josh Kellier, Brendan Heikkenen, Ricky Nepomuceno, Quinn Canella, Lance Tofflemire) regained their national title, with Mitchell Ubene and Miles Matthews finishing on the podium individually as well.
Brandon McBride made an entire city proud as he represented Canada at the summer Olympics in Rio. He won his heat easily to advance to the semi-finals, and finished 14th overall in the 800m. His maturity and poise continue to impress everyone that he meets. Brandon has also signed with Adidas, and will become a regular on the international track and field scene in the years to come! Congratulations to both Brandon and Coach Scarrow on a fantastic season! We cannot wait to see what comes next!

The Windsor Legion Track and Field Club in Windsor, ON has a long history of excellence in track and field. We welcome athletes of all ages and abilities, and have a proven track record of success. Our athletes often move on to have success at the NCAA, CIS, national, andinternational level.
Our athletes were able to dominate on their home track this weekend, taking home 27 medals and countless personal bests! Gold medals went to Shawn Beaudoin (decathlon), Maya Hannagan (Youth 3000m), Abbey Gibb (Midget Triple Jump), Carolyn Prins (Youth Triple Jump), Alisha Murray (Bantam 80m, 150m), Teagan Kuhtka (Bantam 2000m), the Youth Girls Sprint Medley Relay (Adi Traore, Taneidra Caine, Marvelous Agbonwaneten, and Maya Hannagan), and the Youth Boys 4 x 400m Relay (Shahriyar Rahman, Will McBride, Josh Woghiren, Patrick Quinland). Silver medallists were Nicole LaRue (Midget 1200m), Abbey Gibb (Midget Long Jump), Carolyn Prins (Youth Long Jump), Lynnsey Copat (Youth 2000m Steeplechase), Maya Hannagan (Youth 1500m), Caroline Forbes (Youth 3000m), the Youth Girls 4x400m Relay (Payton Sabourin, Adi Traore, Ally Oulds, Nicole LaRue), the Youth Girls 4x800m Relay (Ally Oulds, Chloe Walker, Madison Burnham, Lynnsey Copat), and the Youth Boys Sprint Medley Relay (Patrick Quinland, Dante Lewis, Josh Woghiren, Tadzik Czubernat). Bronze medallists were Sophia Costa (Bantam Shot Put), Jackie Turner (Midget Shot Put), Alisha Murray (Bantam Long Jump), Sharon Ocheje (Youth Triple Jump), Madison Burnham (Youth 3000m), Teagan Kuhtka (Bantam 1200m), Aron Massaquoi (Midget 100m), Nate Norton (Midget 200m hurdles), and Ally Oulds (Youth 400m hurdles). We also had a number of other outstanding performances and are excited to see what the future brings!
Strong Showing for First Time Olympian McBride
On September 24th, Athletics Ontario held their annual awards banquet in Toronto. Six Windsor Legion athletes were nominated for awards, with Alisha Murray winning the award for Bantam Girls Sprints and Hurdles. Other nominees were Teagan Kuhtka (Bantam Boys Distance), Abbey Gibb (Midget Girls Jumps), Carolyn Prins (Youth Girls Jumps), Serena Hunt (Junior Women Combined Events), and Brandon McBride (Senior Mens Distance). Congratulations to all who were nominated!

Indoor Season Wrap Up
We have completed another successful indoor season. The Youth athletes managed to win the team title at their Athletics Ontario Championships in February, and we followed that up with a strong performance at the Bantam, Midget, Junior Championship in March. Provincial Medallists were:

Our midget and youth athletes competed in Legion Nationals in St. Therese from August 5th to 7th, with Noah Costa earning a bronze medal in the midget boys 800m and a 6th place finish in the 1200 m. Carolyn Prins and Abbey Gibb also placed fourth in youth and midget girls triple jump, respectively. Nicole LaRue and Chloe Pugh were 7th and 8th in the midget girls 1200m, while Evan John and Alex Needs were 6th and 7th in youth boys long jump. Aron Massaquoi and Patrick Quinland were 7th in the midget 300m and youth 400m, with Adi Traore placing 8th in the youth girls 400m. Ally Oulds and Caroline Forbes were also 8th in the 400mH and 3000m, respectively. Representing Team Ontario, Maya Hannagan was also 4th in the 3000 m and 5th in the 1500m.
