Cross Country Season Wrap Up
      The WLTFC Cross Country team wrapped up another successful season at the Canadian Cross Country Championships in Kingston on November 24th. Chase Canty won a silver medal in the U18 boys race, with Noah Costa placing 8th in the same race. Andrew Davies was also 8th in the U20 men's race which earned him a birth on team Canada! Congratulations to all athletes and coaches on a spectacular season!

The indoor season started Tuesday, November 6th! Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 - 7:00 at the University of Windsor (St. Denis Center). Please come prepared to warm up outdoors - our rental starts at 6:00.Registration form is available here!

​AO Junior Senior Championships

Windsor Legion had a strong showing at the Athletics Ontario U20 and Open Championships at York University. Trevor Way brought home a silver medal in Open Men's High Jump, and Kenya Small added a bronze medal in the Open Men's 800m. Ally Oulds, James Muharrem and Evan John narrowly missed the podium, placing 4th in the U20 women's 400 m hurdles, U20 men's 400 m hurdles, and U20 long jump, respectively. Shawn Beaudoin added some valuable club points, placing 5th in high jump and 6th in both pole vault and javelin. In the non-championship events, James Shaw was second in the U20 men's decathlon and Yazmin Olla was third in the U20 women's heptathlon. 

Outdoor Season Wrap Up

Windsor Legion athletes finished off a strong summer with several medals and top six finishes at the RCL Provincial Championships, AO Bantam Midget Youth Championships, and the Atlantic Championships. Davies Leads the Way at Nationals

Windsor Legion sent a small group of athletes to the Athletics Canada Junior Senior Championships in Ottawa, and all athletes left with a top ten finish in the country. Andrew Davies and Maya Hannagan started things off with a second place finish in the U20 5000 m and a fourth place finish in the U20 3000 m races on Thursday night. Kenya Small advanced from the qualifying rounds all of the way to the Open 800 m final, where he placed 5th. Evan John jumped his way to 8th in U20 Long Jump with a new personal best, and Trevor Way rounded out our performances with a 9th place finish in Open Men's High Jump.

Costa Selected to Represent Canada, Seven WLTFC Athletes Chosen for Royal Canadian Legion Provincials

In an eventful week, Windsor Legion has seen seven of its athletes recognized for recent outstanding performances. Noah Costa will represent Canada in Jamaica at the end of June in the 2000 m steeplechase. Additionally, he will join Jordyn Beneteau (Long Jump, Triple Jump), Jeff Carey (100, 200, 400), Chase Canty (3000), Payton Sabourin (400, 400 mH, 200), Nicole LaRue (800, 1500), and Emma Pegg (400, 800, 1200) at the RCL Provincial championships in July. Congratulations to all of you!

WLTFC Athletes Bring Home Ten OFSAA Medals

Windsor Legion athletes had an excellent weekend at the OFSAA Track and Field Championships June 7th to 9th. Emma Pegg won gold in the midget girls 800m and bronze in the 400m, while Camille Blain won gold in the junior girls 300 m hurdles and silver in the 80 m hurdles. Payton Sabourin and Chloe Pugh teamed up with Emma and Camille to add to the medal haul from our Chatham Kent athletes, placing second in the Open Girls 4 x 400m.

Not to be outdone by their Chatham Kent friends, our Massey distance squad added three medals, with Chloe Walker and Noah Costa bringing home silver and bronze, respectively, in the Open Steeplechase races and Max Fazecash adding a bronze in the junior boys 3000 m. Max was also fourth in the 1500 m, and Maya Hannagan ran to a new personal best in a highly competitive senior girls 3000 m race to finish 6th. Herman's Duwardo Cain and Fouseni Traore rounded out our medal count with a bronze in the junior boys 100 m and a silver in the Open Boys 4 x 400 m, respectively. Congratulations to all who competed!

​​The Windsor Legion Track and Field Club in Windsor, ON has a long history of excellence in track and field. We welcome athletes of all ages and abilities, and have a proven track record of success. Our athletes often move on to have success at the NCAA, Sport, national, andinternational level. 

WLTFC Qualifies 19 Athletes to OFSAA

A successful weekend at the OFSAA West Regional Track and Field Meet has led to 19 Windsor Legion Track and Field Club members moving on to the OFSAA Championship at York University June 7 to 9. 

Leading the way were Emma Pegg and Payton Sabourin. Emma won the midget girls 400 m on Friday evening in a blistering time of 56.75, breaking a 36 year old record. She also won the midget girls 800 m on Saturday. Payton qualified in all three of her events in the senior girls division, placing second in the 400 m and 400 m hurdles, and fourth in the 200 m.

Pegg and Sabourin teamed up with Camille Blain and Chloe Pugh to win the open women's 4 x 400 m in convincing fashion to cap off a stellar meet for all of them. Lilly Pattinson added drama to the day Saturday as well, qualifying in the midget girls 3000 m by one one hundredth of a second. 

Ashley Maguire and Max Fazecash also advanced in both  the junior 1500 m and 3000 m races. Chloe Walker kicked the meet off for us with a convincing win the the Open Girls 1500 m steeplechase.

2018 Indoor Season Wrap Up 

​We have completed another successful indoor season. The Combined Events Athletes started us off well in January, with the Youth and Senior athletes taking to the track in February, and finally our Bantam, Midget, and Youth athletes wrapping things up in March. Athletes that finished in the top six in Ontario are listed below.
